Answer #3:
I'm a teen. 15 for a matter of fact. I am looking for a car between the years of 1995-1999 that can get from 18 to 28 MPG.... Guess what the car is? 1995-1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX... One in AWESOME shape would cost about... $6,000 or more. So why $20,000??? That is more then ANY of my parents vehicles...
Look lower in year, cheaper...
Hope this helps.
God bless.
Answer #4:
Volkswagon Phaeton. Basically VW wanted to create a luxury car to compete with MB and BMW. That car was the Phaeton. It was a great car, but economically, it was a flop. Now they are dirt cheap, in particular the older models ('04-'06). Don't worry though, they're still plenty modern. Pros: These cars are very fast (electronically limited to 160, but drag limit is 190), very comfortable, and easily seat 5. This was the top of the line VW, retailing for about 100 grand. Plus I can guarantee you will be the only one at your school to own one. Cons: not great gas mileage and major repairs can be pricey. They are kind of hard to find, but it is certainly possible.
Just a list of other options:
Saab 900
Camry
Kia Optima
BTW, always buy used
Answer #5:
Mazda 3i...less than 20k, more than 33mpg, Cool Looks
Honda Civic...New ones are less than 20k, very good on gas
Nissan Altima..used = less than 20k, +30mpg, Made in USA
Chevy Malibu...could have a really nice one for 17k, 34mpg rating, Made in USA
Hyundai Elantra....10/100k mile warranty!
Kia Forte...Honda Civic with a Hyundai Elantra warranty
Answer #6:
It should be 4-door, 4-cyls, not sporty. I would prefer Honda or Toyota... First time drivers usually have much more expensive car insurance, and it depends from car. You should compare insurance rates while choosing the car - for example here - carquotes.fateback.com
Answer #7:
First, congrats on your first car. Especially with those funds, bravo! But please, stay away from the Eclipse, any year, they're garbage in almost every mechanical aspect. If you can afford something like that, you want it to last. At least now a days where money and production value is everything. Invest in a new Honda Civic or Accord. Toyota Camry is also in the top contenders seat almost every single year. Personally, I love the 2010 Camaro, but that's obviously not for you. Maybe the Scion TC, which is fast, affordable, safe and a hatchback for lots of space and style.
