Cars Go Green - Hybrid Cars Questions
Question: Is the Prius Problem a Victim of the Rush to Go Green?
( Back )
Answer #1:
every new thing has its consequences. one invention that comes to my mind are SPACE HEATERS. they seem safe but have burnt many houses.
Answer #2:
Yes! Some people just love to stir the pot and the media loves to report bad news. It is all good for bad news. heheh
Answer #3:
the fact of the matter is that the Prius is a load of rubbish and in fact not very green either. The manufacturing processes used to make the components for the prius are amongst the dirties there are, the car it self is no better on fuel than your average petrol car, in fact a test on a well known motoring/entertainment show showed that the prius was less fuel efficient than a 4 litre V8 BMW M3
Answer #4:
It seems to me that a lot of Prius drivers have a problem figuring out how to put the car in neutral. I thin the problem is that they have green thoughts. They have $$$$$ signs dancing in their head.
Answer #5:
No, I don't think so.
I think the "Prius problem" is simply hype by people who are susceptible to hype.
It's a stupid car, I wouldn't want to be in one in a crash, but there's nothing wrong with it.
Make a note of that.... if you product depends on hype, hire good lawyers.
Answer #6:
"a death car was unleashed on the public"?
News flash: Skip over your question, and re-read the first six words that you wrote: "The Prius was rushed to market"...
...do some research next time before you begin a question with an invalid premise. The Prius went on sale MORE THAN TWELVE YEARS AGO. That's hardly a "rush" when compared to today's absurd headlines.
Congratulations, the media has succeeded in whipping you into a frenzy, and making you believe their hysteria. Try thinking for yourself. I know it might hurt your head, but you'll thank me in the long run.
Answer #7:
Cradle to grave the Prius is not green
I saw a prototype Prius at an Auto Show 15 years ago (NADA) It was not rushed to the market. When the idea was developed gas was still cheap and there was no green movement in the USA to speak of. I do not think there is any evidence that this is a death car.
There is some doubt raised about the Gentleman in San Diego and the out of control Prius. It seems that they cannot duplicate his problem. The car seems to be able to be put in neutral and shut off easily as they asked him to do several times. This does not seem to be the case with Toyota's other vehicles
Answer #8:
No
