Cars Go Green - hybrid technology Questions
Question #1:
Obama thinks NASA should be a tool of muslim outreach. NASA hasn't done anything useful in a long time. It's a politically correct , affirmative actions cesspool of liberal hate.
All liberals think that inventing, progressing, and advancing in terms of technology is bad, because it pollutes and is unfair to minorities.
Liberal lawyers have sued so many companies and people, no one wants to risk or invent in America anymore.
If you think i am exaggerating, or full of shyt, look at your appliances in your home. Stove, dishwasher, Car, vacuum cleaner, lawn mower, everything. It has not improved in 30 or 50 years. In 1990, my car got 48 miles per gallon - same as a so-called "hybrid". In 1960, my grandmother's washing machine cleaned better than today's eco-friendly piece of shyt washing machines that use 2 ounces of water and leave your clothes covered with bacteria.
Unbeliveable.
Do you agree or not
yes, we've advanced a lot with computers and video games and Google. But i would remind you that those things do not amount to progress.
They are the media of today.
It should be a small part of progress, but it's 100% of progress. It would be like the 20th century being defined by TV and radio and nothing else. Still riding horses and using stone tools
Question #2:

Question #3:
I want some suggestion, something I can edit to fit the feel of the novel, not the concrete title.
I don't want to give out to much of the novel but: It is in the future, about 80 years, 20 years before the main event humanity was surprised how far technology had got (not lazers and flying cars, think very powerful computers and stuff like that), but the main events get dark, the machines got to strong, and due to some malfunctions (this is not anything like terminator, trust me) they have started making human-machine hybrids (called "abominations", still not terminator, bare with me), these look fairly low tech and disturbing (picture pieces of a human face stitched together yet missing some pieces and pulled over something that looked like a car engine), and now the last remaining humans in this world where oxygen is diminishing are trying to stop the main machine called the "infernal puppet master" (this thing is gonna be ridiculously disturbing and symbolic).
The setting will be a hopeless world where the sun is covered every day, most cities have now devolved into a almost old victorian towns or mutated into odd, almost steampunk worlds.
The weapons used by humans will look old and odd (one I will mention is something that's essentially a small 18th century gatling gun that can be held like a rifle)
and it will use a lot of symbolism involving morality, the debate of religions, and borrow lots from dante's vision of hell from the divine comedy

Question #8:
The September sales figures for automakers operating in the U.S. came out yesterday, you can read about them at Click Here .
Ford, in particular, took a big hit in profits. All of the former Big 3 makers had disappointing results, and there doesn't seem to be much hope on the horizon. Will market forces eventually sink the Big 3, and should the U.S. Government step in, like they did with Chrysler in 1980?
I, for one, would hate to see all of those jobs go away - but have these companies acted in the best interests of the American people? After all, did not U.S. makers, GM in particular, lead the fight to sink California's electric vehicle law? Aren't their most profitable vehicles - gas-guzzling, Mega-SUVs - helping to keep us dependent on Middle East oil? Aren't they dragging their feet on hybrid technology? Is this socially responsible? When do we pull the plug?
Question #9:
I am entering an engine repair institute and I can't make up my mind if I should study automotive or diesel? The diesel program would be from medium to heavy duty trucks and they also have hybrid-diesel technologies so that seems exciting..

Question #12:
Shouldn't the "conservative" position be the adult, responsible position on issues? Surely nobody sincerely believes air pollution is a good thing, yet "conservatives" seem to be opposed to solar and wind generators, non-polluting cars that run on electricity or compressed air and hybrid car technology.
I consider myself a conservative, and am sincerely distressed that what passes as "conservativism" on environmental issues is not the responsible position.
Should I cease regarding myself as a conservative? I'm a tea party kind of guy. Should I just disavow the "conservative" nomenclature?
Hey blu . . . I really am a conservative.
I just read through the answers. There's some good thoughts here. Thanks to everyone.
For the record, I don't advocate that the government should spend tax money to fix the environment. Conservatives should simply do the right thing and own solar panels (I do) or a wind generator, drive a hybrid or an electric/compressed air technology car, etc.

Question #14:
Why is it that I can only find "clone" or aftermarket complete hybrid iron sets. With the much hyped game improvement capabilities that hybrid irons have to offer I was wondering why I HAVE NOT seen any of the top name brand manufacturers offer any of the complete hybrid sets?? I have seen a couple no name sets online at custom club companies like "pine meadow golf .com" and "golf clubs fore less.com". I love these hybrids and would like to get a quality name brand set but cannot find any with the exception of the Cleveland HI-BORE. and Adams only offers a partial hybrid set . Do I need to stick to my Ping G5's They are nice forgiving traditional irons but probably not as forgiving as a hybrid set. Should I learn to play better with the traditonal irons or will everyone soon be playing with complete hybrid sets ???? Why dosnt TaylorMade or Callaway or Nike or Cobra .. offer complete hybrid iron sets ??????
Question #15:
I wish that Toyota made a Camry Hybrid Wagon. The Prius is too small, and I don't like SUVs, but the Highlander is the only option for a hybrid made in Japan that is bigger than a small car.
What are your car needs, and what would the ideal car to meet those needs look like? Not a fantasy car, but something based on existing technology.
Question #16:
I'm going to be 16 soon, and I'm looking for a kind of fun and girly car. I was looking at sports cars, but my parents care too much about safety and my driving speed so now i have to find a family friendly car (which means at least 5 seats) that's still fun for me to drive around.
I'm liking the new toyota prius cuz it's fuel efficient, more spacious than other hybrids, and has cool technology. I also like the ford fiesta for its cool lime green color haha and other features (like the price)....any ideas or suggestions?
btw: price range around 20,000even though the prius is more
Question #17:
I am interested in buying a hybrid but some have said the technology is too new and to wait awhile to see if they really prove to be good. My mechanic has said the battery would be REALLY expensive to replace and other repairs would be costly. I'd like to hear from those who own a hybrid and have owned for quite some time. I am interested in the escape hybrid from Ford.
Question #18:
Ford reinvented itself after the crisis through it's miraculous Ford Fusion Hybrid, GM is getting ready to release it's much anticipated Chevy Volt. Heck, Nissan is releasing the Leaf and it's not even an American company. What the heck is Chrysler going to do?
Question #19:
I have just a couple questions here:
If you have to plug it in and "attach" it to the electric grid, isn't that using "coal-fired" electric plants, which are highly polluting? And didn't Obama pledge to massively increase the cost of coal because it is a "dirty" energy source?
Also, I'm not certain I want to be limited to only 40 miles before a charge is needed, as people aren't going to let you just plug in your car and zap their electric bill, are they?
Don't these take hours to recharge? SO I guess wherever you are going with it, you better be prepared to stay for a while, right?
excerpt...
The long-anticipated Chevrolet Volt, General Motors' electric car, will cost $41,000, the company announced Tuesday, leaving consumers to decide whether its environmental appeal is worth a price far above that of similarly sized conventional autos.
During the 2008 presidential campaign, then-Sen. Barack Obama pledged to put 1 million plug-in vehicles on the road by 2015.
But some analysts said they doubt that electric cars can reach a broad audience in the near term. Hybrid cars took about eight years to reach the million-unit sales mark in the United States, according to Energy Department figures.
"I'm not sure the Volt is going to be a volume vehicle," said George Magliano, director of automotive industry forecasting for North America at IHS Global Insight. "The technology still isn't there to make them cheap. At the end of the day, the consumer pays a hefty premium to make a statement."
Both the Volt and the Leaf will cost considerably more than rival gasoline-powered compact sedans, such as the Honda Civic or the Ford Focus, each of which costs under $20,000.
Price is only one potential barrier to mass adoption, however.
Consumers must also get accustomed to plugging the cars in at home. It takes hours to recharge the vehicles, and in the absence of a network of public recharging stations, drivers that run out of juice may need a tow truck.

Question #20:
I have a few questions about the Star Trek universe that have never been truly answered. If you know the answer or have a guess, I would like to hear it.
1) What was Data's power source? He has no set life span, so it must be something pretty powerful. Kind of along this line, how is a non-biological life form able to eat and drink? Where does that material go after he eats it?
2) Why were the "Q" called "Q"?
3) The "Q" cannot die under "normal" circumstances, and on one rare occasion 2 "Q" conceived a new "Q" together, but how are they normally created? Were all "Q" everywhere created at the same time and no new are normally born, or did they all evolve?
4) What was the source of the Borg? Did they start as one species that integrated technology into their bodies, and then moved out and conquered? When did this happen?
5) If Data and Lore's creator made such the 30 years before TNG was taking place, why was no one able to match what should have been outdated technology? This would be like people today swooning over Radio Shack electronics from 1980!
6) The "Dowd" was a "Q" like creature. Why did the "Q" allow him (or maybe an entire species) would they wouldn't allow "Q" hybrids. For that matter they are so interested in humans because they have a potential to bypass them someday.
7) Dr. Crusher questions if the "Q" can bring people back to life. It is never answered. Do they actually have the ability of life over death?
8) If the "Q" can time travel, they should be able to change anything in the universe to what suits them, but they often seem to be troubled with current events. Why is this?
This is probably enough for now. I may do another later. Thanks for playing!
number 5 should have been: Why were people acting like Data was new technology when he was 30 years old?
number 6: Why did the "Q" allow the Dowd to exist at all when they rivaled their abilities?
